Research

Research conducted at the Department of Biophysics:

  • Development of a new method of bone fracture risk prediction based on the clinically available data.

  • The use of thermography for the diagnosis of pathological alterations and to evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic procedures.

  • Application of computer image processing to improve the diagnostic efficiency of ultrasound and tomographic imaging.

  • The influence of electromagnetic radiation on the selected processes in biological systems:

    • the effect of microwave radiation, in the frequency range used in wireless communication, on the human body,

    • the effect of low-frequency electromagnetic fields on tumor cell lines in vitro,

    • checking of the electromagnetic hypersensitivity effect in the population and attempts to develop a diagnostic procedure for this pathology,

    • linear and non-linear analysis of heart rate variability under exposure to electromagnetic radiation.
